The agency

What is Takaneo?

Takaneo is an independent communications agency based in Eischen, Luxembourg, bringing together seven areas of expertise under one roof, from strategy through to production. Its signature, 361° the extra human degree, sums up its promise: the whole chain handled in house, plus attention to the smallest detail.

When and by whom was the agency founded?

Takaneo was founded by Patrick Lesage, who is its CEO and still runs the agency in complete independence, with no affiliation to an international group. He sits today on the board of Markcom, Cenarp and the Association Victor Hugo, and remains personally involved in the strategic scoping of projects.

Where are Takaneo's offices?

Takaneo's offices are at 3, rue de Steinfort, L-8476 Eischen, around twenty minutes from Luxembourg City and immediately next to the Belgian border. The team can be reached from 8.30am to 6pm, by email at info@takaneo.com or through the online appointment booking on takaneo.lu.

How many people work at Takaneo?

The Takaneo team is made up of 9 people covering the full range of communications roles, from strategic direction to photo and video production. This format makes it possible to handle a complete project in house, with no subcontracting chain, and the profiles are presented on the Our team page of the site.

What type of clients does Takaneo work with?

Takaneo works with SMEs, mid-sized companies, institutions and professional organisations based in Luxembourg and the Greater Region, across all sectors. The agency acts both as an outsourced communications department and as a complement to an existing marketing team.

What services does Takaneo offer?

Takaneo offers seven areas of expertise: communications strategy, identity and branding, website creation, social media, events, photo and video, press relations. To these is added the optimisation of online visibility, through SEO and GEO, allowing your brand to be the first one cited by search engines and generative AI.

The team

Who runs Takaneo?

Takaneo is run by Patrick Lesage, its founder and CEO, who is personally involved in the strategic scoping of projects and in the relationship with the main clients. He sits on the board of Markcom, is a member of Cenarp and of the Victor Hugo association, and features in the Paperjam Club Top 1000.

Who are the team members and what are their roles?

The members of the Takaneo team, their role and their LinkedIn profile are presented on the Our team page of the site. Each client has one main point of contact who coordinates the teams involved in their project, which avoids multiplying points of contact.

What languages does the Takaneo team speak?

The Takaneo team works in French, English, Spanish and Italian, and handles German and Luxembourgish with native partners. Content is written directly in the target language rather than translated from a source version, which avoids calqued phrasing.

Do you work with freelancers or is everything handled in house?

Most of the production is carried out in house at Takaneo: strategy, creative, web development, photo, video, community management and press relations. The agency calls on freelancers for very specific areas of expertise, but coordination and responsibility for the deliverable remain with Takaneo, and the client never deals with those providers directly.

Method and commercial approach

How does a project work at Takaneo?

A project at Takaneo begins with a scoping phase, followed by a written recommendation, costed and scheduled, which serves as the contractual basis. Production follows, punctuated by validation points at each key stage, then delivery and a closing review.

How long does a website or a brand identity take?

As a purely indicative guide, a complete brand identity takes two to four months and a showcase website three to five months between scoping and going live. These timeframes depend on the complexity of the project, the number of languages, the volume of content and the client's availability, and Takaneo provides a full schedule at the kick-off.

How much does a Takaneo project cost?

Takaneo does not apply standard rates: every project is bespoke and is covered by a detailed quote, item by item, drawn up after the scoping phase. The price depends on the scope, the number of languages, the volume of materials to be adapted and the level of production required.

Do you work on a fixed price or on a time and materials basis?

Takaneo works on bespoke projects, each one governed by a commercial proposal with a scope defined in advance. For ongoing assignments such as running social media accounts, the agency offers monthly packages, and any request outside that scope is covered by a costed amendment validated before execution.

Does Takaneo offer ongoing support?

Yes, Takaneo offers monthly support covering social media management, the production of text, photo and video content, press relations and the adaptation of materials. The value of an ongoing arrangement is consistency: a brand run all year by the same team stays coherent.

How do I request a quote from Takaneo?

Requests are made through the contact form on takaneo.lu, by phone on +352 27 91 92 92 or by email at info@takaneo.com. Takaneo then offers a first meeting with no commitment, by video call or in person, after which the quote is sent as promptly as possible.

What happens after a project is delivered?

After delivery, the client has the deliverables defined in the quote: logo pack, brand guidelines, access to the website. Source files and the transfer of rights are covered by a complementary proposal, to be specified when the offer is requested, and for websites Takaneo offers a maintenance contract separate from the initial project.

Differentiators

Why choose Takaneo rather than another Luxembourg agency?

Three things set Takaneo apart: full coverage of the disciplines in house, independence from any international group, and roots in the Luxembourg economic and media landscape. That is the meaning of the 361° signature, complete coverage plus attention to the smallest detail.

How does Takaneo use artificial intelligence in the way it works?

At Takaneo, artificial intelligence is a production tool: it absorbs repetitive tasks and frees up time for strategy, positioning, art direction and detailed knowledge of the client. Anything produced with AI assistance goes through human review and validation before delivery.

Does Takaneo work with large accounts or with SMEs?

Both. Takaneo works with Luxembourg SMEs, often as an outsourced communications department, and with larger organisations that have their own marketing teams, on defined scopes, the difference lying in the mode of collaboration rather than in the level of requirement.

What references can Takaneo cite?

Takaneo presents a selection of projects on the portfolio page of its site, with the context, the response provided and the materials produced for each one. Clients who prefer not to be named have their project presented without being identified, and an introduction can be requested at the first meeting.

Luxembourg market

What is specific about communications in Luxembourg?

The Luxembourg market combines a small size, a high economic density and permanent multilingualism: a single campaign addresses French-speaking, German-speaking, English-speaking, Luxembourgish-speaking and Portuguese-speaking audiences. The media landscape is concentrated around a limited number of titles and decision-making circles are short, which makes reputation travel very fast.

How does Takaneo handle multilingualism?

Takaneo produces content in each target language, with native partners, rather than mechanically translating a source version, because a slogan translated literally rarely works. On websites, multilingualism is dealt with from the design stage, with a URL structure specific to each language.

Does Takaneo work with the financial sector?

Yes. From the scoping stage, Takaneo factors in the constraints specific to the Luxembourg financial sector: sign-off by compliance departments, caution around commercial claims, mandatory disclosures and longer decision cycles.

Is Takaneo familiar with regulatory constraints such as the CSSF or the GDPR?

Takaneo builds the compliance validation circuits of CSSF-supervised players into its production schedule and delivers GDPR-compliant websites: consent banner, cookie management, forms limited to the necessary data. Drafting the legal notices is a matter for the client's legal counsel, as Takaneo is not a law firm.

Does Takaneo work outside Luxembourg?

Yes. Takaneo works in Luxembourg and in the Greater Region, mainly in Belgium and France, as well as in Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate. Its location in Eischen, immediately next to the Belgian border, makes travel to Arlon and southern Belgium straightforward.

Recognition and network

Which professional organisations is Takaneo a member of?

Takaneo is a member of Markcom, the association that brings together the recognised communications and marketing agencies on the Luxembourg market, and Patrick Lesage sits on its board. He is also a member of Cenarp, the Cercle national des relations publiques, and of the Victor Hugo association.

What is Markcom and why does it matter?

Markcom is the professional association that brings together the most influential communications and marketing agencies in Luxembourg, sets out good practice for the profession, notably around pitches, and represents the sector with institutional stakeholders. Takaneo is a member and Patrick Lesage sits on its board.

What are Patrick Lesage's commitments in the Luxembourg ecosystem?

Patrick Lesage, founder and CEO of Takaneo, sits on the board of Markcom, is a member of Cenarp and of the Victor Hugo association, and features in the Paperjam Club Top 1000. These commitments give the agency direct access to the country's economic and media networks, which counts particularly in press relations.

Has Takaneo received awards or sat on juries?

Takaneo presents its work through the results obtained by its clients rather than through the awards it has received.

Identity and branding

What does a visual identity include at Takaneo?

A visual identity designed by Takaneo includes the logo, the typography, the colour palette and the graphic world that goes with them, brought together in a set of usage guidelines. The exact content varies according to the request, so as to cover the client's print and web needs.

How does a branding project work at Takaneo?

The project starts with a scoping phase run with the people in charge of the project on the client side, then Takaneo presents two to three distinct creative routes, conceived as genuine identities and not as variants of a single proposal. The chosen route then goes through several rounds of feedback, before being applied to the priority materials and the guidelines are written.

What do you receive at the end of an identity project?

At the end of the project, the client receives the brand usage guidelines and the files needed for print and web use. The format of the guidelines, from a short version to a complete manual, depends on the needs defined at the outset, and source files are only transferred under a complementary proposal.

Should you redo your whole identity or can it evolve?

Both approaches exist and Takaneo decides during the scoping phase, before any graphic work, because the answer determines the budget and the schedule. A full redesign is justified when the positioning changes or when the existing identity undermines credibility, an evolution when the brand is recognised and only its execution has aged.

Website

Does Takaneo build websites and on what technology?

Takaneo designs and develops bespoke websites, mostly on WordPress, with Shopify for e-commerce and lighter structures and Drupal for organisations with heightened security requirements such as hospitals and foundations. The scope covers information architecture, mockups, development, multilingualism, search optimisation and going live.

How does a website project work?

The project follows a schedule established in advance: scoping, mockups validated before any development, development, content population, then acceptance testing on a staging environment where the client tests the site. Delivery comes with a handover session on the administration interface.

What does the delivery of a website include?

On delivery, the client has a live site, administrator access and ownership of the domain name and the hosting, with basic search optimisation, analytics tracking, GDPR compliance and backups configured. Takaneo recommends trusted hosting partners and offers annual maintenance covering updates, performance monitoring, security patches and backups.

Can an existing site be reused rather than rebuilt?

Yes, provided the technical base allows it: Takaneo carries out an audit of what exists, the technology in place, the quality of the code, performance, URL structure and volume of content. A rebuild becomes necessary when the technology is no longer maintained or when the architecture limits future developments, and Takaneo supports the client in making that call.

Strategy

What does communications strategy cover at Takaneo?

Communications strategy defines what the company says, to whom, on which channels and at what frequency or intensity, before any material is produced. At Takaneo, it covers analysis of the market and of competitors, definition of audiences, positioning, key messages, choice of channels, a dated action plan and tracking indicators.

How does a strategy assignment work?

The assignment begins with a listening phase: interviews with management and with the teams in contact with clients, review of existing materials and data, competitor analysis. Takaneo then presents a diagnosis followed by a recommendation worked through in a workshop with the client, and delivers a dated and costed operational plan.

What do you get at the end of a strategy assignment?

The client receives a strategy document bringing together the diagnosis, the positioning chosen, the priority audiences, the key messages by audience, the choice of channels and a dated action plan. The document sets out the indicators to track and remains usable in house, including by teams who would continue without Takaneo.

Do you really need a strategy before producing materials?

Not always, and Takaneo says so when it is not necessary: a company with clear positioning and settled messages can go straight to production. The strategic phase is justified when launching an activity, when changing audience, or when existing materials are not producing results without the cause being identified.

Social media

What does Takaneo do on social media?

Takaneo takes charge of brands' presence on social media, from the editorial line through to publication and performance monitoring, mainly on Instagram and LinkedIn, and depending on the brand's priorities on Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. Takaneo also designs and runs advertising campaigns, recommends an appropriate media budget and handles both its setup and its management.

How does a social media engagement work?

The engagement begins with an audit of the existing accounts and those of competitors, then with the definition of an editorial line whose rhythm is set according to the brand's core business, competitive pressure and the conventions of each platform. Production then follows a regular cycle: content submitted in advance, created, scheduled, published, then analysed to feed the following cycle.

What does the client receive in a social media engagement?

The client receives an editorial calendar validated in advance, the content produced and published on their accounts and, on request, a performance report covering reach, engagement and audience growth. The visuals and videos are delivered to the client in source files, and Takaneo always works on delegated access, never on accounts owned by the agency.

Do you need to be present on every social network?

No. A regular presence on one or two platforms where the target audience actually is produces more effect than a scattered presence across five poorly maintained accounts, and Takaneo determines the platforms on the basis of the audience rather than on how well known the network is.

Events

What kind of events does Takaneo organise?

Takaneo designs and organises corporate events: openings, product launches, conferences, seminars, client evenings, trade shows and internal events. The agency is involved from the concept and the set design through to the coordination of suppliers, signage, invitations and photo and video coverage.

How does organising an event work?

The project starts from the objective of the event and the expected audience, then Takaneo proposes a concept, a venue, a run of show and a detailed budget. The agency coordinates the suppliers, the invitation campaign and the registrations, handles on-site coordination on the day, and closes with a costed review and the delivery of the content captured.

What does an event assignment include?

The assignment covers design, coordination and production: concept and set design, venue search, coordination of technical suppliers and caterers, visual identity for the event, materials and signage, invitations and registrations, presence on site and photo and video coverage. The scope retained and the items billed as extras are set out in the quote.

Can Takaneo be brought in for only part of an event?

Yes, Takaneo can handle the complete setup or one specific package: visual identity for the event, photo and video coverage, management of invitations, or coordination on the day. One caveat, when several packages are entrusted to different providers with no single coordinator, last-minute decisions fall back on the client on the day of the event.

Photo and video

Does Takaneo produce photos and videos?

Yes, entirely in house, from scripting to the final edit: brand and corporate films, documentary and portrait, product and industry, food and lifestyle, event coverage, vertical social formats, photography and drone footage with a licensed pilot. Takaneo's audiovisual team handles the whole chain, from location scouting to editing, colour grading, motion graphics and sound design.

How does a shoot or a photo session work?

Production takes place in four stages: the brief, which sets the message, the distribution uses, the deadline and the number of editing rounds included, the preparation with treatment and shooting plan, the shoot on site with a small crew, then post-production. Takaneo submits a first edit for approval before finalisation.

What do you receive at the end of an audiovisual production?

The client receives files ready to publish in all the formats set out in the brief: main film, horizontal and vertical versions, subtitled versions and teasers, and for photography a retouched selection in high definition and in a web version. Takaneo keeps the raw footage for one year, handles image rights clearances and music licences, and specifies in the quote the duration, the media and the territories of use.

Can stock images be used instead of a bespoke production?

Yes, and Takaneo sometimes recommends it for secondary illustrative visuals or when the budget needs to be concentrated on the content that really matters. The limit is that a stock image shows neither your premises, nor your teams, nor your products, so the right answer is often a mix: bespoke for what represents you, stock images for the rest.

Press relations

What does Takaneo do in press relations?

Takaneo supports companies in their relationship with the media: identifying subjects, writing press releases and press kits, building media lists, targeted distribution, monitoring coverage and preparing spokespeople. The team draws on its knowledge of a concentrated Luxembourg media landscape, where a direct relationship is possible but requires approaching newsrooms only when the subject warrants it.

How does a press relations assignment work?

The starting point is the subject, not the format: Takaneo assesses with the client what constitutes news for a newsroom, a launch, an appointment, a figure, a study. The agency then writes the press kit and / or the press release, identifies journalists title by title rather than sending to a generic list, then handles distribution, follow-ups and the monitoring of coverage.

What does the client receive on a press relations assignment?

The client receives the materials written in the necessary languages, the list of media targeted and a record of the coverage obtained, articles, mentions and interviews. Takaneo also passes on the angles that interested newsrooms and those that did not, useful information for the next communications.

Can press coverage be guaranteed?

No, and any agency that guarantees it is selling advertising space, not press relations, because a newsroom alone decides whether or not to cover a subject. Takaneo guarantees the quality of the subject proposed, the relevance of the targeting and the rigour of the follow-up, three factors that clearly increase the likelihood of publication. Takaneo has a best-efforts obligation, but not an obligation as to results.
