You have decided to organize one or more Christmas parties to thank your clients. It is advisable to define the theme of the evening from the outset. Christmas, of course, but in what form? And with what decor? A Scottish, Swedish, Russian, or magical Christmas? Regardless of your company’s size – and the allocated budget – it is always possible to create an atmosphere. A few accessories or a complete set… the environment makes all the difference. The important thing is to create an atmosphere.
Very trendy are themes that combine an invitation to travel with ecological commitment: a decor that evokes Nordic countries, Russia, or a fairy tale, but which prioritizes raw and recyclable materials, limiting waste. Judicious and well-thought-out lighting can easily complete the picture. There’s nothing like light to transform a space, even an ordinary one. Inexpensive and environmentally friendly, LED bars can create a magical atmosphere and are very simple to use. Furthermore, a small souvenir gift, in the form of an original goodie or an item that will become part of your guests’ daily lives, is also a good way to be remembered fondly. Of course, before setting up any decor or accessories, consider safety! Naturally, engaging an agency to conceive and coordinate the project can save you a lot of trouble!
Ensure good taste! Each season has its own atmosphere, and a “Christmas Party” is not a “Summer Party”. While summer allows for a lighthearted and festive party, Christmas calls for a more intimate, warm, and (almost) family-like event.
Furthermore, this Christmas party must be consistent with the company’s identity: firstly, regardless of the chosen venue (restaurant, hall, large loft, etc.), it is best to avoid a discrepancy between substance and form. Select a venue that is appropriate for the message you wish to convey. If employees are informed that the year has been difficult, for instance, avoid renting a lavish venue and hiring a Michelin-starred caterer! There should be no discrepancy between the nature of the event and the message conveyed! Above all, consistency is essential.
A happy employee is a productive employee! Managers should not hesitate to seize the opportunity of the year-end holidays to reiterate their thanks. Naturally, most employees expect a material gesture at the end of the year (gift vouchers, bonuses, gift baskets…), but the feeling of recognition also, and above all, comes through the power of words. A simple gesture and an excellent way to reinforce the feeling of competence… one of the pillars of motivation!
The same applies to clients. While inviting them is already a form of attention and gratitude, it is also appropriate to verbally express appreciation for their loyalty and the quality of your interactions.
This “off-duty” moment should allow everyone to (re)discover each other by setting aside hierarchical levels, disagreements encountered throughout the year, and individual performances.
It is an opportunity (quite rare in a corporate setting) to discuss and exchange on more personal topics such as passions, projects, family… and why not, discover unsuspected common interests!
And let’s be honest, Christmas and the holidays are primarily about gastronomic delights! If there is one area where you should not hesitate to invest, it is indeed the caterer! Whether it’s a seated dinner or a cocktail reception, the menu must be festive and substantial… but also adapted! In large companies with diverse nationalities and various religious beliefs, not everyone may appreciate foie gras, oysters, stuffed capon, or Maroilles cheese fondue! In such cases, it is necessary to offer a variety so that everyone can find something they enjoy.
If the company is smaller, why not consider hiring a private chef? More exclusive, more elegant than a buffet, more exceptional and glamorous, it’s a very “Christmas” solution for smaller gatherings.
