Strategy section
Since January 1, 2024, our digital team undertook a thorough audit of our website (takaneo.lu), revealing several key indicators that were hindering our online growth. Despite existing traffic generated by our ‘physical netlinking’ efforts, the previous SEO strategy struggled to attract new visitors and engage them sustainably.
Some of our findings were quantifiable:
In light of these limitations, we therefore defined a global plan and prioritized the SEO actions to be implemented, focusing on technical, structural, and editorial optimizations.
1First Contentful Paint (FCP) is a metric used in SEO and web performance to indicate when the first visible content element appears on the user’s screen, showing that the page has started to load.
In the identified context, we first implemented a series of concrete actions aimed at strengthening our technical SEO. This is the starting point we recommend to our clients seeking to optimize their “natural” online visibility.
Here are the technical levers we addressed:
Reduced loading times: To optimize the website, we changed hosting, which allowed us to benefit from better performance. We also minified JS scripts called on the pages, optimized the cache, and removed countless duplicates in our media library. These actions reduced the average page loading speed to 0.41 sec. Increased speed not only improves user experience but also SEO, as Google favors fast sites (one of the fundamentals of what are called CORE WEB VITALS2).
SEO tag optimization: We implemented a redirection strategy to ensure a smooth user experience and preserve the SEO authority of our pages. 301 redirects, in particular, allowed us to effectively redirect old URLs to new relevant pages, thus avoiding 404 errors that harm SEO.
Systematic implementation of redirects: If your ads are not displayed as often as possible due to budget limitations or excessively low bids, adjust your bids or budget to maximize visibility.
2Core Web Vitals are a set of key metrics used to evaluate the quality of the user experience on a website. They measure loading speed, interactivity, and visual stability to ensure smooth and pleasant navigation.
3A snippet is a text excerpt displayed in search engine results, such as Google, to provide an overview of a web page’s content. It generally includes the title, URL, and a description, and plays a key role in SEO to encourage users to click on the link.
As part of this strategy, we pushed the definition of a “showcase website” further, by developing an “Expertise” and “Portfolio” section to enrich our site with relevant content intrinsically linked to our activity:
Expertise pages: These are “article” pages, dealing with subjects closely or remotely related to communication in Luxembourg (news, informative content, or case studies), such as the one you are currently reading. These pages alone allowed us to attract over 4,200 unique users with an average session duration of 30 seconds in 2024.
Portfolio pages: In the same vein, the “portfolio” pages allow us to showcase the work done for our clients and consequently establish our expertise through other content formats. This format attracted over 1,639 unique users with an average engagement duration of 42 seconds.
To this day, the integration of these two types of content into our strategy offers two major advantages to Takaneo:
These efforts, among others, allowed us to position ourselves on 68 keywords, 18% of which are an integral part of the TOP 3.
4Core business refers to a company’s main activity, which constitutes its core expertise and generates the majority of its value and revenue.
In parallel with these implementations, we continued our backlink efforts in 2 ways:
These netlinking efforts, maintained and strengthened in 2024, bring our total to 3,312 backlinks.
After 12 months of constant effort, the statistics speak for themselves and demonstrate the effectiveness of our SEO strategy. From a general perspective, here are 3 notable observable elements.
Thanks to our SEO efforts, the year 2024 benefited from generally stable organic traffic, totaling 11,000 new users. This traffic, punctuated by notable peaks, reflects the impact of key moments such as the publication of new content. These fluctuations demonstrate the relevance of our strategy to capture attention during specific periods, while maintaining a constant flow of qualified visitors throughout the year.
According to the data below, organic traffic (Google searches) established itself as the primary acquisition source in 2024, representing 9,541 sessions out of a total of 15,311, which is the majority of global traffic, or 62% of global traffic. It largely surpasses the performance of other channels, such as direct traffic5 or referral6. Furthermore, users from organic search generate an average of 8 events7 per session, which reflects their increased interest and interaction with our content.
The year 2024 was also marked by a constant growth in the number of keywords positioned in search engine results (SERP). In summary, the total number of keywords referenced in the TOP 3 increased from 2 in January to nearly 11 in December (+550%).
We have therefore strengthened our visibility on strategic queries and expanded our presence.
5Direct traffic refers to visitors who access a website directly, without going through a search engine, an external link, or a campaign. This includes users who type the URL directly into their browser or use a bookmark to access the site.
6Referral traffic represents visitors coming from other websites via external links (backlinks). For example, if a user clicks on a link to your site from a blog post or online media, this generates referral traffic. It is a key indicator in a netlinking strategy.
7An event corresponds to a specific user interaction with a site element, tracked via a tool like Google Analytics. For example: a button click, a file download, or a video playback. These interactions measure visitor engagement and interest in the site’s content.
In conclusion, the last 18 months have marked a turning point in Takaneo’s digital strategy, with SEO as the central lever of our transformation. We began by strengthening the technical foundations of our site, reducing loading times and systematically optimizing HTML tags. In parallel, the creation of enriched content, particularly the ‘Expertise’ and ‘Portfolio’ pages, attracted over 50% of global traffic during 2024, while positioning Takaneo on new strategic keywords directly related to our activities.
Our netlinking strategy has also borne fruit, consolidating our online authority and visibility. These combined efforts allowed us to place 11 keywords in the TOP 3 and establish organic traffic as the primary acquisition source (62% of global traffic). These results illustrate the effectiveness of a well-thought-out SEO strategy to strengthen visibility, attract a qualified audience, and sustainably support the digital growth of our agency.
Finally, in addition to our parallel actions, SEO allowed us to increase the number of qualified leads contacting us via our website (4 major projects this year), but also the number of requests for relevant collaborations or applications.
